Cushmic Sounds is pleased to offer this beautiful Vintage 1978 Norlin era Gibson Les Paul Standard in stunning Natural finish from my personal collection.
Weighing in at 4.7kg (10.4lbs) with a solid 1-piece Mahogany body, 3-piece Maple neck, beautiful dark Brazilian Rosewood fretboard with stunning figured Mother-of-pearl inlays.
Whilst it's not 100% original, it was 'for good reason' that some upgrades had to be done to bring this beauty back to life.
Replacements/Upgrades;
• Gibson '57 Classic pickups
• Kluson Nashville style bridge
• Period correct Kluson Tuners (original bushings still in place)
• Gibson cream Mounting/Pickup Rings
• USA Volume & Tone knobs
• Replacement Switch Tip (Original Rythm/Treble Plate still in place)
The original pickups were average, muddy, horrible sounding pickups so they had to go, but this baby still has the original pots, caps and wiring.
The original tuners and bridge were no longer functional and the mounting rings were cracked in various places so all had to be replaced.
Original frets with binding nibs, no fret buzz at all, still plenty of life left so playability is absolutely superb!
Original Gibson nut still in place, original truss rod cover in perfect condition.
Overall, a very nice vintage Gibson in Excellent condition! (See photos)
Comes with its original Gibson Hardshell Case. NOTE: Original handle missing and has been replaced (crudely) with rope and gaffer tape.
Serviced and setup here at Cushmic Sounds with D'Addario 10-46 strings, frets cleaned and polished, fretboard cleaned and lightly oiled, intonation and action set, truss rod tested and works as it should, electronics tested and working perfectly, all hardware cleaned and secured.
