The working muso

Performing with Proud Mary

Proud Mary performing at Hamer Hall, Melbourne - 29/07/2023
Cush
Hi, Cush here!
For over two decades, I have been performing, touring, collecting guitars, amps and all things music related. I am a fulltime, working musician currently performing solo gigs all over Perth, former guitarist for Hailmary and since 2010, guitarist for Perth's Ultimate Creedence Clearwater Revival - Proud Mary which features former members of Aria award winning band - The Baby Animals.
During this time, I spent a number of years working in music retail, serving the music community while increasing my 'guitar' knowledge, honing my Lutherie skills, establishing client relationships and making great friends along the way.
Collecting guitars and music gear is an addiction, ask any muso! I just decided to turn mine into a business so I'm always on the hunt for Vintage, Pre-Loved, High-end electric and acoustic Guitars, Pedals and Spare Parts.
Here at Cushmic Sounds, every item is meticulously checked over, serviced, set up and fully functional before being listed. I will not sell anything that I don't endorse. That's why I include plenty of detailed images and thorough descriptions for every item and video demos for every guitar listing so you can be 100% confident in your purchase.
What you see is EXACTLY what you'll get - Cush.

Consignment
Minimum consignment listing price is $2,000 AUD.
An accurate valuation will need to be done in person to assess overall condition, playability and working order but before doing this, I will request photos of your instrument with any documentation inlcuding serial numbers and proof of purchase (if available).
Once I have viewed your photos, if your instrument is of interest, I will then research to confirm the year, make and model but please be aware, I am selective about what I advertise on my website.
Valuations usually take anywhere from a couple of hours to several hours, especially if your guitar is vintage or a rare piece. This includes extensive market research, gathering info from current and past listings both local and abroad, new vs second hand pricing, comparing models, condition and originality etc. I then compile all info into a detailed email with my valuation, listing pricing, realistic estimated sold pricing, and commission rates along with a copy of my Consignment Agreement for your consideration.
If you choose to proceed with consignment, a meeting will be arranged at my location and my consignment agreement will be presented for you to sign and date.
NOTE: For security purposes, a copy of your current Driver's license or photo ID must be presented via email or text before giving my location. This is standard procedure, I need to know who I'm dealing with before providing my location.
Select instruments will incur a valuation fee of $90 AUD per instrument. This fee must be paid before I submit my valuation. This valuation fee is non-refundable if you choose to not proceed with consignment. If you choose to proceed with consignment, this valuation fee will be deducted from the final sales commission at time of sale.
It is highly recommended that your instrument remains in my care for a minimum 60 days when consigned for the best possible chance of a successful sale. However there is no hold period, this means that you (consignor) can collect your instrument at an arranged time to keep in your possession until sold. While in your possession, your instrument must not be played or gigged while on consignment.
NOTE: At any time within the 60 day period you (consignor) decide you no longer want to sell your instrument, a $100 AUD fee will be charged. If multiple guitars, a $100 AUD fee per guitar will be charged.
For consignment percentages, please submit an enquiry via email or phone.
NOTE: If any repair work is required to make your instrument functional and/or playable, it will be taken to a qualified luthier for assessment. A repair quote will then be emailed for your consideration and must be paid up front before proceeding with the consignment. If you do not wish to proceed with consignment, no fee will be charged and you may collect your instrument at an arranged time.
Repairs & servicing will be done by Mark Taylor at Rocket Music Co - Guitar & Stringed Instrument Repairs & Servicing and/or Andy Rolfe at Sharp Sounds Audio Perth WA.

Buying
I'm always on the hunt for Vintage and Pre-loved guitars, Parts, & Gear.
I do occasionally purchase guitars. I am selective, but feel free to inquire and show me what you've got!
Do you have vintage parts stashed away in a drawer, taking up space? These could be old pickups, tuners, volume knobs, pickguards, old manuals, hangtags, pedals etc.
Even old guitar cases are of interest.
These could all be worth $$$ and I'm always keen to view.
If something is of interest, I'll make you an offer.
