Cushmic Sounds is pleased to offer on consignment this ridiculously cool Fender Custom Shop 1951 "Nocaster" in the ever popular Butterscotch Relic Laquer finish from 2016.
Serial #R15401
Now what is a "Nocaster" you ask? Well, the Telecaster was originally named the "Broadcaster" when it was first introduced in the 1950s. However, due to a trademark issue, Fender briefly removed the "Broadcaster" name from the headstock, leading to a period where the guitars were referred to as "Nocasters." Eventually, the name was changed to Telecaster, and the guitar has been known by that name ever since. In terms of differences, the Nocaster is essentially a Telecaster from the brief period when it didn't have a name on the headstock. The Broadcaster, on the other hand, refers to the original Telecaster model before the name change. The main differences between these models would be in their historical significance, rarity, and potential vintage value, as the actual design and features are quite similar.
Weighing in at 3.27kg (7.72lbs) with a beautifully resonant aged 2-peice Ash body, 1-peice Maple neck with chunky 50's profile "U" shape and Walnut skunk stripe, 7.25" fingerboard Radius with 21 "Vintage upgrade" frets, and Bone nut.
Nut width: 41.92mm (1.650")
Neck width at 12th fret: 51.59mm (2.031")
Neck depth at 1st fret: 24.26mm (0.955")
Neck depth at 12th fret: 25.94mm (1.021")
Featuring its original set of gorgeous sounding Hand Wound Fender Custom Shop 51 "Nocaster" pickups and an upgraded wiring harness from Replay Guitars in Victoria replayguitars.com.au
Pickup outputs:

Upon first inspection, the original wiring harness had a replacement Mojo Dijon cap that had been installed poorly, and the original volume pot was damaged. The guitar was quite dark in tone and produced some unwanted microphonics and white noise to the point of being unusable, so it had to go!
Upgraded wiring harness components:
1x CRL 3-Way Lever Switch
2x CTS 'Short' Precision Audio Taper 250k Solid-Shaft Potentiometers
1x Cornell Dubilier / Sprague Orange Drop .047uf Capacitor
1x Treble Bleed Mod on Volume Control
1x Switchcraft Mono Output Jack
All aged Nickel hardware, Fender logo Vintage Tuners, Ashtray bridge with stamped Serial No. and brass saddles.
Comes with its Original Fender Custom Shop Hardshell Tweed Case, Certificate Of Authenticity (COA), Custom Shop Floor Traveller (Reprint) and Hang Tag, Owner's Manual, Fender Leather Strap, Bridge Cover, Custom Shop Sticker, Fender Custom Care pack (Sealed), Fender Custom Shop cable, and Case Keys.
