Cushmic Sounds is thrilled to offer this absolutely gorgeous Vintage Fender Stratocaster from 1963, made at the Fullerton Factory in the USA with a Pro-Refinish and Aged/Relic treatment in highly desirable Sonic Blue! Whaaattt!!

Now as noted, this beauty has been refinished and partially restored, so let's get onto it...
With thorough market research, second and third opinions from John at True Vintage Guitar
in the USA, Reuben at Reuben's Guitar Repairs
in QLD, emails and phone calls and various comparisons, it is confirmed the body and neck would have left the Fender Fullerton Factory in late 1963 as a complete guitar in (quite possibly) Fiesta Red finish!
Weighing in at 3.52kg (7.76lbs) with a super resonant 2-piece Alder body, original Maple neck with original finish (no signs of overspray) featuring an incredibly comfortable rounded "C" shape profile, genuine Brazilian Veneer (Round-Lam) fingerboard with 7.25" radius, Clay fingerboard and side dots, 21 replacement period correct Narrow frets and replacement Bone nut.
Caliper measurements:
Nut width: 42.18mm
Fingerboard width at 12th fret: 51.37mm
Neck depth at 1st fret: 20.49mm
Neck depth at 12th fret: 25.21mm
With these measurements and the thickness of the Veneer fingerboard, it's safe to say this lovely guitar has only ever had one refret in its life!
Pickups & Electronics:
Both the Neck and Bridge pickups have been rewound, Middle pickup is a replacement, CTS Potentiometers date to 1996, replacement Capacitor, replacement 5-way switch, replacement output jack and original black/white Cloth wiring.
Pickup outputs:
Neck: 5.50k
Middle: 6.05k
Bridge: 5.83k
Hardware:
Original Bridge with stamped PATENT.PEND. & FENDER logo saddles with original screws, springs and block, original output jack plate and screws, original string tree with replacement screw and nut.
Keeping you in tune are the original set of Kluson Deluxe stamped single line tuners with PATENT No. D-169400. These are in excellent working order.
Unfortunately, the original tremolo arm has been lost.
Plastics:
Original 11-hole pickguard with underside aluminium shield, original pickup covers, volume and middle-tone knob are vintage replacements, lower tone knob is original along with the switch tip. 9 out the 11 pickguard screws look to be original. Backplate with shield is possibly a replacement.
NOTE: There is an extra screw hole underneath the pickguard that would suggest there was either another pickguard in place at some stage, or an extra hole was drilled in the wrong location.
Comes with a very good condition Genuine early 1970s Fender Hardshell Case with original orange inetrior. All locks, latches and handle in perfect working order.
Serviced and setup here at Cushmic Sounds with D'Addario 10-46 strings, frets cleaned and polished, fretboard cleaned (not oiled), intonation and action set, truss rod tested and works as it should, electronics tested and working perfectly, all hardware cleaned and secured.
Replacement frets show absolutely no fretware, playability is exceptional.
