Cushmic Sounds is pleased to offer this very cool 'Modified' Les Paul Deluxe from 1971 in a vibrant cherry sunburst from my perrsonal collection.
I have owned this beauty for 10 years. It was my first vintage purchase and has served me well.
When I purchased this guitar, it had the original mini humbuckers with the Goof Rings/Surrounds. Upon closer inspection, it had already been routed for full-size humbuckers so that made my decision to install humbuckers much easier!
In the time I've owned this beauty, I have cut the original pickguard to fit the full-size humbuckers. Pickups are Gibson 490R/498T and they sound great with this old beauty! (Neck Pickup has a cover from a Gibson Custom '59 reissue.
Completely rewired with new pots and caps, the original 3-way switch is still there and works perfectly. Brand new Kluson Deluxe Tuners have been installed along with original 1970s bushings. Brand new blank truss rod cover, brand new Gibson abr-1 Tune-o-matic wired bridge, Tone Pros Tailpeice and chrome input jack plate added.
Oh!! Did I mention the volume knobs go to 11?? (See photo)

Has had a full fret level, and a hand made bone nut installed. All work (including the rewiring) done by Mark at Rocket Music Co.
To get this ready for sale, it's had a full service and setup with D'Addario 11-52 strings, truss rod adjusted and tested, action and intonation set, all Hardware cleaned, tested and secured. Everything works as it should, playability is excellent for a 50+ year old guitar.
Comes with a non-original Gibson Hardshell Case from 1975. (one latch broken)
The original case smelt like an old, wet dog, all latches were broken and it had no handle so I moved that on a few years back.
In closing, there are no breaks or structural issues. I've taken quite a few photos to show off the wear n' tear from over the years. At the base of the guitar, there may have been a trapeze Tailpiece or bigsby at some point but I'm not sure as there are no holes in the top. There is a hole from a strap button on the back. There is a crack in the binding at the cutaway. Apart from that, just admire the natural wear!
