☆PERSONAL COLLECTION☆

Cushmic Sounds is pleased to offer this lovely 1990 model Gibson Les Paul Custom from my personal collection.

Serial #91240548

Weighing in at 4.5kg (10lbs) with a solid, 1-piece, non-weight relieved Mahogany body, 3-piece Maple top, 1-piece Mahogany thin "C" shape neck, Ebony fretboard with beautiful Mother-of-pearl inlays, 22 replacement frets, and original nut.

Now lets talk about the pickups;

From early 1987 into early 1990, these Customs were released with Bill Lawrence 'The Original' humbuckers. These pickups featured circuit boards instead of traditional baseplates.

At some point in 1990, Gibson issued these Customs with hotter 490R/498T humbuckers which more commonly featured Gibson USA stamped baseplates but would also use 'blank' baseplates as spares were still available. This particular model features a set of absolutely Roaring PAT NO Gibson Humbuckers that I can't say for sure, are original to the guitar. To my knowledge of Gibson history, it is possible these are original, but the soldering looks to have been done at a later date. Then again, Gibson may have had to use some spare PAT NO baseplates, but who knows for sure? At the very least, if replacements, they were installed professionally and I would assume these were installed back in the '90s.

Original hold covers have been removed but are included with the sale.

Pickup outputs:

Neck: 7.10k

Bridge: 13.34k

All original electronics, with 500k CTS pots, caps, input jack, 3-way switch, and wiring.

Pot codes: R1379016

R137 = CTS (Manufacturer code)

90 = Year

16 = Week

Hardware features its original Nashville style bridge (although pitted, it still functions perfectly) with Stop Bar tailpiece, and keeping you in tune are a set of smooth, sturdy replacement Grover tuners with Tulip buttons.

As for the plastics, at some point in time the guitar had a set of Epiphone pickup surrounds/mounting rings added. This has resulted in some extra holes being drilled to house these slightly wider mounts. It also caused the original pickguard to be mounted crooked.

I have replaced these mounts with genuine 'All Parts' replacements that mount straight into the original screw holes. The original pickguard is now back in place properly but there is an extra hole underneath. The Neck pickup rout has also seen better days, but none of this affects the overall tone or playability.

All knobs and switch tip are original.

Comes with its original Gibson Hardshell Case that's seen some travelling by the looks. 3 out of the four latches are in working order, combination lock is broken.

Serviced and setup here at Cushmic Sounds with D'Addario 11-52 strings in Eb tuning, frets cleaned and polished, fretboard cleaned and lightly oiled, electronics working perfectly, truss rod adjusted and works as it should, all hardware cleaned and secured.

Replacement frets are in excellent condition. The refret is exceptional and playability is superb.

Overall condition is "Player Grade". There is laquer checking, a few bumps and scuffs throughout, some wear on the back but nothing through the paint, the binding has slightly aged to a lovely cream colour with checking throughout, along with the Gibson logo and Split Diamond exhibiting a lovely aged gold hue.

No breaks, structural cracks or repairs.
